Gag Grouper Filet

Gag grouper has a mild, clean flavor with a firm, white, and flaky texture. It’s slightly sweeter and less pronounced than red grouper, with a more delicate flavor overall. Some describe it as a cross between bass and halibut—lean, moist, and very approachable. Gag grouper has a thicker meat, considered much better for grilling than red grouper.
